Windows 7 Ultimate I’m impressed. I’ve downloaded Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) from the Microsoft Action Pack, seemingly there is a new download manager and it worked like a charm.  In less than an hour 3.5GB downloaded to my home pc.  I burned the iso with CDBurnerXP and shot the brand new sparklingly installation DVD in my Dell xps laptop.

Between 30 and 45 minutes later Windows 7 was up and running in a basic installation which already recognized my dell wireless N network card. So no shuffling around with utp cables for downloading the necessary software. Nope downloading right from the sofa.  I popped the screen to max size on the default driver 1900*1200, no problem there.  But still default driver, so I popped up the device manager to notice two unknown devices. I guess it must be the video driver and the physx card that’s in the machine.

I installed the latest nvidia drivers (and since they bought the company that created the old physx cards) it also installed the physx card drivers. Hopefully popping up the device manager I was surprised to see still one device undetected… no clue for the moment, default video was replaced by nvidia and the first unknown device switched to the physx card, what else am I missing, Sound check, Webcam check, Video check, motherboard check, no clue… guess I’ve got to dive in the dell site to find my exact specs and see what’s missing. Or can anybody send me a picture of their xps 1730m of the device manager with all devices shown… J.

Start running some programs still wondering about the quickness of my machine I started to notice a slight slowdown when opening different applications. So check out task manager processor really realy low in use wow. Memory 80% what the fuck 80% in 2 gig machine and 4 apps open …?

Hey what’s that 1 gig of memory, a bug? Cause I have 2 gigs…. . Running through different ways to check the memory all tests return 1 gig. L

Ok shutdown restart check bios … bios 1 gig … SHIT … shutdown opening back side xps switching memory banks trying one by one… crap one of the memory cards is broken.

So I removed the memory booted with one bank and thus 1 gig of memory I still noticed my boot time is twice as fast us under vista 64 bit. Impressive.

Installed office 2007 playing around with some a few excel’s ordering 2 cards of 2 gigs for this evening.

Checking out the nvidia sli configuration which fucked up in the beta… no problems anymore it is still there and working like a charm. HP drivers of my network printer didn’t seem that happy. Got in a status that the driver is installed but the software can’t finish the installation. Strange some more work for HP over there. Also the intelli pad software driver isn’t completely compatible; luckily the default driver from windows 7 works perfectlyJ.

Installing my Vodafone UMTS usb key … no problems over there except for remembering my pin code... J. But got it right the third try J.

So all by all I’m very impressed… so fast with just one gig for the moment I wonder how it will fly with 4 gigs this evening.

Some new eye candy has arrived and finally some revisions of old applications:s

• Calculator: impressively extended
• Paint: simplified in a useful way, png support finally
• Sticky Notes: you can stick them any ware
• Print screen:  nice app the capture the screen or parts of the screen you edit + making some notes on it if you want (GREAT)
• Widgets: no sidebar you can drop the widgets any ware
• Notepad:  wow encoding support …
• WordPad: slightly enhanced and simplified
• Probably a lot more stuff which I haven’ tried yet.
• Games I think there more of the (not sure)

a little late to blog about, but Danielle and me won the last tennis tournament we entered at TC Oase Double Mix 30 points.
Michel and I got kicked out in the quarter finales of the Double Men 40 points.

This was 2 weeks ago Next tournament me and Danielle will be participating will be TC Voco Double Mix 30 points.

"Great" nu beginnen ze bij het stad(=Antwerpen) al een van hun eigen cultuur fenonemen te verbieden. "What's next Katastroo, Clement Peerensf" ? De strangers hebben een reputatie van kritische en sarcastisch en zotte teksten te maken over allerlei zaken in de maatschappij en deze kan dan plots niet meer ...

Misschien kunnen ze beter het hele repertoire ineens verbieden inclusief Clement Peerens, Katastroof en zovele andere die kanttekeningen plaatsen bij de hiaten in onze maatschappij. Waar is die vrijheid van meningsuiting. Die geldt namelijk ook als het niet in jullie kraam past. In dit geval is het zelfs artistieke vrijheid.

We leven hoe langer hoe meer in een politie staat waarin de eigenheid van een streek, stad, dorp van minder belang is dan punten te kunnen scoren op een politiek correcte schaal. Misschien moet je het standpunt eens bekijken en zorgen dat mensen er geen liedjes meer over hoeven te maken... Oeps juist aan oplossingen werken jullie niet mee, enkel aan populariteits pols en spelletjes.

Arm vlaanderen ... binnekort vraagt iedereen zich weer af waarom het blok belang zo goed scoort.

Antwerpse ijspiste mag 'racistische' Strangers niet meer draaien

De stad Antwerpen zal de uitbater van de ijspiste op de Grote Markt op de vingers tikken omdat ze een lied draaiden dat als racistisch kan bestempeld worden. Dat meldt de stedelijke evenementregisseur Peter Vindevogel. De stad zal contact opnemen met de uitbater van de piste, een firma uit Antwerpen, en hen vragen om het bewuste nummer van de Strangers niet meer te laten horen. Vindevogel benadrukt dat het om een eenmalig incident gaat, waar geen opzet mee gemoeid is.
"Ziekenkas"
Vanmiddag schalde het gecontesteerde nummer 'Ziekenkas' van de Antwerpse groep de Strangers door de luidsprekers op de Grote Markt waar tijdens de eindejaarfeesten een ijspiste ligt. In de tekst van het lied, dat met typische Arabische fluiten begint, komt de passage "Allah is groot, maar ziekenkas is groter" voor.
Daarmee verwijzen de makers naar vermeende steuntrekkerij vanwege allochtonen. De stad zit verveeld met de zaak, maar meent dat het over een 'accident de parcours' gaat. Groen! vindt het voorval totaal ongepast omdat er nogal wat jongeren van buitenlandse afkomst komen schaatsen op de ijspiste.
Veel discussie
Fractieleidster Freya Piryns plant het incident ter sprake te brengen tijdens de gemeenteraad. Het nummer van de Strangers lokte in het verleden ook al veel discussie uit wegens de politiek incorrecte tekst. (belga/adv)

Damn I started recently using Live Mesh. Darn this is a great tool....

Somewhere in the near future I should be swithhing Live account... but don't worry I keep you informed.

Saterday from 17.30 till 01.00 it is time for the annual Tennis Gourmet organised by Rosette. Two hours of eating 4hours of tennnis some dessert time and lots of boose.

I suggest you don't wake me early on Sunday or you are going to fined one pissed Beneke on your way ;-).

Back to normal setup Gentleman double with Marc (This time in 80 points because there was no 60 points course).  We fairly easely beated a team with 80 points, we have only 55 points. This brought us to quarter finales. Which we have to play on saterday morning 10 O'clock. If we win we need to succesively play semi finales.

Back to normal setup Mixed Double. Since Daniel raised a level in the ranking. We now need to play at least in 30 points since no 30 points course was availble we went in on 40 points. So far so good. We played two times and won both times. Not always the greatest play but decent and effective. I start to get the hang of it exploiting the wrongful setup of the net man/woman on the other sides. Friday at 18 O'clock we go in for quarter finales.

I wonder what it will bring.

First of all sorry for lagging behind.

I was involved in some house moving activities so all the other stuff got slightly behind.

Well I played in 2 courses double gentleman with Lars en Mixed Double with his girlfriend Ann.

Lars and me also participated in this tournament on the summer edition. We got kicked out in the first round and we were going to do better this time. We had a thight game but darn again we lost in the first round. I bet if we ever survive the first round we win the tournament :-p

So all hopes up for Ann and me. Damn bad luck the course we wanted to compete in was only for combined ages above 70'ty and we didn't made that.

So we had to compete in a higher course.... 40 points first round vs one C-30 and a NG. Result our changes didn't look good. But Ann surprised me she kept all here balls really well paced and deep into the field. Making sure the gent on the other side couldn't intervene on the net. And we won. That was a pleasant surprise. I amazed myself some more about her capacities.

Second round we had a very thight match we played as well as before. In second set we got 1 match ball on their serve. I just lobed the ball outside. They won second set and the third....

Too bad for us ... but heck we were up in a higher ranking and we certainly surpised some people.

If Ann keeps progessing like this she will pass my tennis level somewhere next year ...

Oh well I just lost the finales after 3h15minutes play. We were behind schedule 10mins rest and then the warmup started for the second finale of the day.

I said it allread twice to mark this week. This was my best game ever. For my ability of baselining I again broke my previous best play. We played agains Kristof and Pieter from TC De Meyl.

The adrenaline was so hard rushing through my body that I didn't feel tired at all.

Pieter played hell of a game at the net combined with a tactical serve of Kristof. His serve went really well compared to the last time we played. I also had the impression Kristof reached a new Zen level or it migt be his partner choice. I think Pieter has a more relaxed influence on him. Too bad for us cause that crancked up his play.

So Marc and I were in for some great play.  We had everything baseline rally's, net ralley with mmore than 8 successive volleys, lobs, smashes, ball's flying next to the line flirting with the lines. Everone got broken on serve, everyone kept his serve. Every game was thight except maybe two games all others ended up in deuce sessions. He'll we fought for what we were worth. I think Marc played his best game ever since I have seen him playing. But everytime I see him playing he plays better and better.

But in the end the score ressembled 6-4 6-4 for the opponents... No issues for me

It was so thight we could have won as well... but no critical points over here that we missed or anything It just went their way.... But what a game.

This was the First time Marc and survived the second round ... and then straight to the finales WOW

What a tournamen it was

Wow first finale ever in mens doubles.

Let's hit a ball Frank. We started at 14h10 Power serving through to whole first set.

All services kept I never saw so many good hard services in a game of 20 points not even in 60 points. This is what we call exceptional to make a long story short it ended up 6-6.

Tie break first finales my nerves through the rooftop and too bad my play didn't go bad but just a slight hiccup what brought our opponents in advantage. My partner also felt the burden of stress and we drowned in the tie break.

Second set ... we went again for it

Frank stayed serving a steady game. I even took my serve a level up and hitted about 6 aces in the second set. One of them on a second serve at 30-40 can't belief the stress relief after that ball. The other team struggled with the serve we broke them twice to finish of the set at 6-2

Third My serve went down to a steady normal serve for my doing. Frank als went slightly more down to his normal serve level. Too bad for us that the other team serve went better again. But surprisingly our returns went better and we step in 4-3 lead with me to serve. At this time we were definetly the better team. We won almost all the longer rally. Their play was quick. But not that succesfull.

Anyway I serve at 40-30 and I play the game in a winning position right there to finish it on the net nobody of the other team anywhere the direction I'm playing and the .... I don' t know what I play the ball just against the net band. It doubts and tripples back our side. deuce.  I can fairly well say that this was the point where we lost the match.

Next Serve a great return a firework of volley and the played a great point ... next serve Great serve we have an almost winner at our hand he can't reach the ball anymore decent It hits the side of the racket makes unexpected jump up and lobs us right on the base line Frank still manages to get to the ball but not in a position to ht the ball .... a break ... instead of 5-3 it becomes 4-4

Great serves 4-5

Frank to serve not that bad serves but lot's of second serves nerves racking up we manage to run after the same ball twice to leave our field partly uncovered and ... they break 4-6

Damn ... it could have been easely ours... we were beaten by the mind... but Frank played a great game I did as well that made it not feel that bad we were quiet content with our game....

Oh well next time more luck

I must say our opponents played great as well

After the 6-7 they came behind 6-2 4-3 break down and they pulled themselves back in that's great play.

Too bad that the stupid ball for 5-3 kept my half a night awake ... 

My partner new the opponents and seemingly we were in for a hard ride. Two double specialist very strong net players and they are right in your face.

It was a first timer for me to meet such an aggressive net play. Almost on any ball the came up. But they also played the balls tactical so they could come up and we didn't had a chance to a fast passing without them being in guard on the net. Darn this was a hard play.

Then some training session occured to me. If they are so keen to get on the net don't let them. So inspired but the training sessions of Nick. Hit the ball at least 3meters high above the net. I started playing like "moonballing martinez" I also managed to hit some great lobs when they were upfront. But the biggest advantage of the moonballing was that we doubled team on the net before them. My partner who is a great net player almost drived them crazy. And because he was playing this great game I think it beamed a little on me as well cause my volleys worked better than any game before.

These games with Marc really brings the best out in me. Compared to Marc I felt like a tiny dust in  the wind ... maybe now I ball of wool kinda cute hitting sometimes surprisingly well but not yet with the strength to decides a game play ...

We won 7-6 6-4 ... that was a very thight game lots of emotions in it. Nobody came of the field as a looser... it was a coin on it's side ... today it fell in our advantage.

Up to the finales sunday 16.30

Semi finales in 20 points I was kinda nervous.

I guess this was my worst performace and the best performance of my pall Frank.

Hey played a hell of a first set. He almost won the first set just on his own play. Steady service pressure, great baseline performance certainly from his forehand and killer volleys on the net.  I was greatly impressed. First set was ours 6-3.

Second set Frank still charge, I got even worse Frank kept us in play till 3-3. I even manged it to make three critical missers in a row and gave them a break advantage 3-4.  But as they say you can't kill a beast a beast only get stronger... I climbed up from a very deep vallley and started to play like the devil was on my heels. Frank still playing an excellent game. We barely gave them any more point won 3 games in a row and finished it at 6-4.

I must say thanks Frank without your excellent performance we wouldn't have made it to the finales.
